Xero began as a cloud accounting platform and has progressively layered embedded finance on top of the ledger — invoice payments (Stripe, GoCardless), bill pay and FX (Wise, BILL, Melio, Crezco), embedded payroll (Gusto in the US), open banking bank feeds (Tink in IE/UK, Plaid in the US, Yodlee globally), and a lending marketplace where partners like Wayflyer and TRIVER consume Xero data.
