The story

Founded in 1973 within Atos, Worldline listed independently on Euronext Paris in 2014 as a pure-play payments processor. The 2020 acquisition of Ingenico transformed it into Europe's largest payments provider, combining merchant acquiring, terminal hardware, and financial institution processing under one roof. Over 2021–2026, Worldline shifted from pure infrastructure toward an embedded-finance platform model — launching open banking APIs for AIS/PIS across 3,500 European banks, integrating embedded merchant lending via YouLend and Froda Embedded, and offering white-label card issuing infrastructure to financial institutions.
