The story

MyCase started in 2010 as pure legal practice management software and was owned successively by AppFolio (2012), Apax Partners (2020), and AffiniPay/LawPay (2022). The 2022 AffiniPay acquisition was the strategic pivot: MyCase became the case-management surface for a payments company, deeply integrating LawPay for card/eCheck acceptance, Affirm for client fee financing, and eventually 8am Capital lending and an 8am Visa Business Card. The 2025 rebrand to '8am' repositioned the combined entity as a legal-professional financial OS rather than a point solution.
