The story

Founded in 2016 as a mobile-first business banking account for UK SMEs, ANNA (Absolutely No Nonsense Admin) differentiated through automation of financial admin tasks rather than pure banking. After raising £17.5M from ABHH Group in 2020, ANNA expanded beyond basic banking into tax filing, invoicing, bookkeeping, and company registration — positioning itself as an 'auto-accountant' rather than a neobank. The company has since layered in international payments via Currencycloud, insurance via Admiral Business, and FSCS-protected savings via Griffin, increasingly embedding third-party financial services into a unified SME admin platform. In 2025-2026, ANNA began international expansion into Australia using Thredd's card infrastructure.
