“Can a subsidiary-owned digital-direct brand carve out enough of Brazil's retail insurance market to justify its own carrier license — or does it remain a distribution channel for its parent Caixa Seguradora?”
Youse launched in 2016 as the digital-direct insurance arm of Caixa Seguradora (a joint venture between CAIXA Econômica Federal and CNP Assurances of France), positioning itself as Brazil's first 100% online insurer for auto, home, and life products. The brand has become LatAm's largest insurtech by policies (1.8M+ contracts) while remaining structurally embedded within the Caixa Seguradora legal entity. In 2024 CNP restructured its Brazilian holdings under CNP Seguros Holding Brasil and stood up Youse Seguradora S.A. as a separately-licensed carrier — though it has not yet issued policies, hinting at a future migration off the Caixa Seguradora underwriting stack.
