“Can a natively integrated issuing + processing + ledger platform replace the middleware BaaS stack for banks and B2B platforms?”
Qolo was founded in 2018 by a team of payments veterans (ex-Marqeta, Green Dot, Blackhawk, FIS) with the thesis that BaaS-era card programs were being built on fragmented stacks — separate issuer, processor, ledger and money-movement vendors bolted together. Qolo's differentiation is native card issuing + processing sitting on its own real-time embedded ledger (Quantum Ledger) and program-management engine (Sparq), sold to banks, fintechs and vertical SaaS as an alternative to middleware BaaS. In July 2026 the company was acquired by CSI (Computer Services, Inc.), a US community/regional bank core provider, positioning Qolo as CSI's embedded finance and commercial banking modernization arm.
