The story
Ownr launched in 2017 within RBC Ventures as a business-registration and incorporation platform for Canadian entrepreneurs. It expanded via the 2020 acquisition of Founded to add corporate governance, equity management, and legal document automation. Today it operates as a vertical SaaS legal/compliance platform tightly integrated with parent RBC — most notably driving RBC Business Deposit Account sign-ups via a cashback offer — rather than as a fintech that issues its own accounts or cards.
