Golf Genius

Can the operating system for golf tournaments and pro shops own every workflow at the club — while keeping payments, capital and identity as thin passthroughs?

The story

Founded 2009 as Golf Trip Genius solving tee-sheet pairing problems for buddy trips, the company expanded into league management (2012) then tournament management (2014), which became its flagship. It has since become the golf industry's dominant vertical SaaS platform — powering 40M+ annual rounds across 11,500 clubs and 60+ countries, including operating the USGA GHIN handicap system. Embedded finance is intentionally minimal: payment collection is delegated to Stripe (and Worldpay via OB Payment) through connected-account models where funds settle directly to the customer club's bank, so Golf Genius carries no MoR, treasury, or licensing exposure.
