“Can a Brazilian tax-recovery law firm become the financial operating system for distressed SMBs by owning the account, the credit, and the accounting stack?”
Started 22 years ago as a Brazilian tax-regularization law firm, Villela expanded into debt renegotiation, tax credit recovery, and then into a digital payment institution (Villela Pay / Villela Brasil Bank) serving SMBs in distress. In September 2025 the company retired the 'Villela Brasil Bank' consumer brand and rebranded to 'Grupo Villela' to position itself as a 360-degree 'fincare' group — banking, lending (receivables), accounting, investments and legal services under one roof. It is not a chartered bank; it operates as a BACEN-registered payment institution with Banco Topázio S/A as its settlement/liquidating bank.
