“Can a Nigerian salary-backed lender become the embedded credit and BNPL rails for African financial institutions and merchants?”
Founded in 2021 to make credit accessible to Africans, VeendHQ started as a consumer lender for Nigerian salary earners (federal government workers, Remita/IPPIS payroll ecosystem). In 2023 the company pivoted with Veend Prime and launched Vida — a B2B credit-decisioning and BNPL platform enabling lenders and merchants to deploy credit — moving toward embedded-lending infrastructure alongside its own consumer loan book. The Techstars ARM Labs Lagos backing in Nov 2023 supported the infrastructure play.
