The story

Founded in 2019 after co-founders Itai Damti and Doron Simkovitch initially explored obtaining a bank charter, then pivoted to building a multi-bank access layer (BaaS middleware) after listening to hundreds of builders. Unit established itself as a market leader in embedded finance infrastructure by connecting software platforms to multiple bank partners, handling compliance, and providing APIs for accounts, cards, payments, and lending. In 2023, Unit expanded beyond banking into embedded lending (working capital, charge cards, credit cards) and introduced a 'Ready-to-Launch' fully managed tier alongside its custom API offering, positioning itself as a one-stop embedded finance platform for software companies.
