The story

Founded in 2016 by insurance industry veterans frustrated with opaque and expensive traditional insurance products, Thinkseg pioneered usage-based (pay-per-use) auto insurance in Brazil. In 2019, the company acquired Bidu — the first insurtech M&A in Brazil — expanding its marketplace capabilities and customer base to nearly 2 million registered users. Operating under a SUSEP regulatory sandbox license, Thinkseg built its own insurance carrier (Thinkseg Seguradora S.A.) to underwrite PPU policies directly, while Bidu functions as a multi-insurer comparison marketplace. The company has since expanded into life, residential, motorcycle, and surety bond insurance (Seguro Garantia).
