SulAmérica is a 130-year-old Brazilian multi-line insurer (health, dental, life, pensions, asset management) headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. Historically a public company (SULA3), it was acquired and is now an operating subsidiary of Rede D'Or São Luiz, Brazil's largest hospital group — a vertical-integration play combining insurance carrier with provider network. The company has pushed digital and health-tech since ~2015 (Docway telemedicine, Paraná Clínicas services) and is expanding its asset-management arm SulAmérica Investimentos into private credit / structured products as spreads on traditional fixed income compress.
