The story

Founded in 2012 as the originator of Earned Wage Access, Payactiv spent its first decade building a B2B2C platform integrated with major payroll providers (ADP, Paychex, Paycor, UKG) to deliver EWA as an employer benefit. The company expanded from pure EWA into a broader financial wellness suite—adding a Visa debit card, savings tools, bill pay, and discounts. In 2025, Payactiv pivoted toward becoming infrastructure, launching Access-as-a-Service℠ to let HCM platforms and enterprises embed EWA and card programs under their own brand, positioning itself less as a consumer app and more as the plumbing behind financial worktech.
