The story

Founded in 2004 as Corporate Reimbursement Services, Motus built the dominant IRS-approved FAVR methodology for vehicle reimbursement. In 2018, private equity firm Thoma Bravo merged it with rival Runzheimer to consolidate the market. Under Permira's 2021 investment, Motus expanded from pure reimbursement into a full 'employee driving OS' — adding driver risk management (insurance/MVR monitoring, safety training via Motus Protect), device reimbursement (Mobilize™), relocation/assignment reimbursements (Localize™), and a proprietary Motus Card powered by FleetCor/Comdata/Regions Bank rails. The company now positions itself as an AI-powered platform for the entire employee vehicle program lifecycle.
