The story

InfraCredit was founded in 2017 by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), with backing from KfW, AFC, AfDB and InfraCo Africa, as a specialised local-currency credit guarantee institution to unlock long-term infrastructure finance from Nigerian pension funds and insurers. Its core product is a credit guarantee (not a loan) that enhances issuer creditworthiness so infrastructure sponsors can access the Nigerian debt capital markets. Over time it has extended into climate finance (Climate Finance Blending Facility, off-grid energy) while remaining tightly focused on Nigeria.
