The story

Handy (handy.uy) launched in Uruguay in 2020 as an SMB-focused payment aggregator operating under Riblinor S.A., supervised by the Banco Central del Uruguay (BCU). It rapidly expanded from POS card acceptance to a full merchant financial OS — adding instant settlement (Handy Flash), recurring debits, QR and link-based payments, e-invoicing, BNPL (Pago Después), Pix for Brazilian tourists, and embedded SMB loans via partner Floder S.A. (Pym loans). Its incorporation into the Itaú group accelerated institutional credibility and distribution. Today it positions itself as a one-stop financial platform for Uruguayan commerce, competing with traditional acquirers on speed, simplicity, and breadth.
