Finkargo

Can a trade-finance credit line for LatAm SME importers become the full operating stack for cross-border commerce — locking in customers through data, logistics, and insurance as much as capital?

The story

Founded in 2021 as a pure-play import financing platform for Latin American SMEs, Finkargo started by providing revolving credit lines to Colombian importers to pay international suppliers. By 2023 it had expanded to Mexico and transformed from a single-product lender into a full foreign-trade operating platform, layering on cargo insurance ('Protege'), supplier verification ('Verifica'), and business intelligence ('Analiza') alongside its core 'Paga' financing product. The strategic shift positions Finkargo as the operating system for LatAm importers — using trade-finance credit as the wedge and data services as the retention and margin engine.
