The story

Founded 1956 as the Nigerian Building Society, FMBN became Nigeria's apex mortgage institution in 1994 with a mandate to manage the National Housing Fund and provide long-term credit to primary mortgage banks. For decades it operated as a policy-driven, paper-based institution. Since 2022 it has been pursuing a digital transformation — procuring a core banking system and, in May 2025, launching a core banking mobile app aimed at NHF contributors, mortgage originators and diaspora Nigerians.
