The story

Founded in 1952 as a military-focused credit union in Jacksonville, VyStar expanded membership eligibility to anyone living or working in 49 contiguous counties of Central to North Florida and 10 Southern Georgia counties. The institution grew to become the largest mortgage lender in Northeast Florida with over $13 billion in assets. In 2021 it made a strategic $20 million investment in Nymbus' CUSO and adopted Nymbus for digital banking, signaling a push toward modern digital member experience layered atop its long-standing FIS Miser core banking platform.
