The story

Founded in 1837 as a French wool merchant, La Redoute evolved through the 20th century into a leading mail-order and then multichannel retailer specializing in women's apparel and home decor. After decades as part of Kering/PPR's Redcats Group, the company was sold to management in 2014 in a landmark MBO, enabling a digital-first transformation. Under Galeries Lafayette Group ownership, La Redoute has repositioned as a pure-play e-commerce brand with embedded payments modernization (Stripe migration in 2023) and BNPL expansion (Alma, 2025) as strategic growth levers.
