Karta started as TryHomz in 2022 and pivoted into a self-custody crypto money app. Its B2B product (business.karta.io) targets Web3 teams, marketing agencies, and freelancers with stablecoin wallets, virtual Visa cards, and crypto-to-fiat payouts. In 2025 it launched Karta Personal, a Visa Signature consumer card program aimed at non-US users, issued by Third National under license from Visa. In 2026 Karta announced its treasury and consumer product were being built on Tempo — a payments-focused stablecoin chain — using Privy for self-custody wallet infrastructure.
