GymMaster

Can an all-in-one vertical SaaS for gyms — software + access-control hardware + orchestrated multi-PSP billing — win the long tail of independent clubs globally against MindBody-style incumbents?

The story

Treshna Enterprises started in 1997 as a generic IT/software shop in Christchurch. Building the first GymMaster version with the YMCA turned it into a fitness-vertical SaaS. The key strategic move was the pivot from desktop to cloud (GymMaster Online), followed by adding proprietary 24/7 access-control hardware — combining recurring SaaS revenue with hardware attach and integrated billing across ~110 countries. Embedded finance strategy is deliberately multi-PSP: GymMaster does not act as merchant of record and instead orchestrates a directory of regional billing providers so gyms retain their own merchant relationship.
