The story

GoTyme Bank launched in October 2022 as a digital-only bank in the Philippines, built on the proven model of TymeBank in South Africa — leveraging kiosk-based onboarding to reach underbanked Filipinos at scale. It is a joint venture between Singapore-based Tyme Group and the Gokongwei Group (JG Summit), giving it embedded distribution through the Robinsons retail ecosystem. From a pure consumer deposit-and-debit play, GoTyme has expanded into cross-border remittances (via Wise Platform), SME merchant cash advance lending, and installment credit (BNPL via QR Ph), pursuing the financial OS position for mass-market and MSME segments in the Philippines and broader Asia.
