The story

Founded in 2016 by Tanya Van Court as a direct-to-consumer family banking and financial literacy app, Goalsetter initially focused on helping parents teach kids about money through savings goals and allowances. After raising $15M in Series A funding in late 2021, the company announced a deliberate B2B pivot, licensing its platform as a white-label solution to banks, credit unions, employers, and schools. By 2023-2024, Goalsetter had largely repositioned as a financial education infrastructure company — selling curriculum and youth banking tools to financial institutions rather than competing directly as a neobank.
