Can a Tier-1 US bank build a credible millennial-native neobank inside its own charter — and does that even matter once the flagship mobile app catches up?

The story

Finn by Chase was JPMorgan Chase's short-lived attempt at a standalone millennial-focused digital bank. Launched in 2018 as a separate mobile app running on Chase's own bank charter, it was discontinued in 2019 with customers migrated onto the main Chase Mobile experience. The Finn brand no longer exists as a live product; its infrastructure was always internal to JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.
