The story

Ecobank Nigeria is the Nigerian subsidiary of pan-African bank holding company ETI, founded in 1985 to fill the gap for indigenous African commercial banking in West Africa. Its Nigeria unit has evolved from a traditional branch bank into a digitally-oriented commercial bank, running its own Ecobank Pay QR/digital payments ecosystem, an Omni suite of business banking channels, a public developer/API portal, and increasingly embedded products such as bancassurance and merchant cash advance. The strategic direction is to become the digital financial rails for African SMEs and corporates, layering embedded insurance, lending, and API-based collections on top of its regulated bank charter.
