The story

Founded in 2015 as an automated bookkeeping tool for German mid-market companies, Candis progressively expanded from invoice-scanning and approval-workflow software toward a full accounts-payable suite with B2B payments and ERP integrations (DATEV, SAP Business One, Microsoft Business Central, Sage). In 2022–2023 the company made its most material embedded-finance move: embedding Pliant's Cards-as-a-Service to launch its own branded Visa corporate credit cards, doubling customer card spend within a year and adding a recurring-revenue stream. The strategic thesis is to own the entire purchase-to-archive workflow for German SMBs in-platform, reducing reliance on external accounting software.
