The story

Yardi began in 1984 as an accounting package for property managers and evolved into the dominant end-to-end operating system for real estate — Voyager for enterprise, Breeze for SMB. Payments, screening, insurance, and identity verification were layered on top of the property-management core over the last decade, making Yardi a de-facto embedded-finance distributor for landlords (rent collection via ACH/card/cash, resident screening, ID verify). The company is now pushing into AI (Virtuoso, Claude connector) while extending its footprint via the WeWork acquisition.
