The story

Vertafore has been the technology backbone of the US independent-agency insurance channel for over 50 years, evolving from a punch-card vendor to a cloud-based InsurTech suite (AMS360, Sagitta, Sircon, AIM, QQCatalyst, RiskMatch, PL Rating). After a series of PE flips (TPG → Bain/Vista → Roper 2020), the company is now a permanent portfolio company inside Roper's diversified software platform. Its current strategic push is Distribution Velocity — bringing agentic AI (Velocity AI Platform) and payments/premium-finance orchestration directly into agency, MGA, and carrier workflows rather than building any regulated financial products in-house.
