The story

UKG was formed in April 2020 via the merger of Ultimate Software and Kronos Incorporated, backed by Hellman & Friedman (~50%) and Blackstone (20-25%). The combined company brought together Ultimate's HCM/payroll strengths with Kronos's workforce management (time & attendance, scheduling) heritage. Since the merger UKG has extended into embedded employee financial services via UKG Wallet (earned wage access, UKG Visa payroll card, bill pay, savings) and into global payroll orchestration via UKG One View, positioning itself as a full workforce operating platform for enterprise and mid-market employers.
