The story

ToolTime started as a digital workflow / job-management SaaS for German craftspeople (Handwerksbetriebe) — quoting, invoicing, time tracking, measurements. In 2024 it expanded into embedded finance with ToolTime Pay, an Adyen-powered payment acceptance product that lets tradespeople collect invoice payments via card, Apple Pay, or bank transfer. Per the founder's podcast, the company explicitly chose embedded banking/acquiring over open-banking pay-by-bank, framing payments as a gateway toward broader financial products for the craft vertical.
