The story

Founded in 2013 as a mobile wallet and payment network under ASTRA Honduras, backed by Grupo Financiero Ficohsa, Tengo has evolved into Honduras's leading financial inclusion super-app. It began as a bill-payment and money-transfer utility built on a network of physical agent points (Puntos TENGO), then layered on a branded reloadable Visa card issued by Banco Ficohsa to enable domestic and international commerce. More recently, Tengo has expanded beyond pure fintech into ticketing (Motagua, Real España, La H) and lottery, positioning itself as a digital lifestyle platform while maintaining its financial-inclusion mission for the unbanked Honduran population.
