“Can Romania's dominant SMB invoicing tool evolve into the full financial OS for small businesses by anchoring itself to mandatory government e-invoicing (e-Factura, e-Transport, SAF-T)?”
Founded 2007 in Sibiu as a bootstrapped SMB invoicing tool, SmartBill (legal entity: SC Intelligent IT SRL) became Romania's market leader in invoicing and inventory software, serving 170,000+ companies. The product expanded from invoicing into inventory (Gestiune), accounting (Conta), and POS, and anchored itself to Romania's mandatory e-Factura, e-Transport, and SAF-T regimes. The company was acquired by Norwegian SaaS group Visma, which has rolled it up as part of its Southeast Europe accounting portfolio.
