The story

Sift began in 2011 as a machine-learning fraud detection API (Sift Science) primarily focused on payment fraud and chargebacks. It expanded into a broader Digital Trust & Safety platform covering account takeover, fake account creation, content abuse, and dispute management, rebranding to 'Sift' in 2019. Sift is a fraud infrastructure vendor — it is a provider for embedded finance stacks, not a consumer of them, so its own embedded finance footprint is intentionally minimal.
