“Can a German restaurant-ops platform ride the Toast playbook — bundling payments and embedded lending on top of vertical SaaS — to monetize its 6,800-restaurant base?”
Founded in 2014 as SimplyDelivery, a Berlin-based delivery-operations software, SIDES has evolved into an all-in-one gastronomy OS for quick-service restaurants, ghost kitchens, and franchises. The company rebranded to SIDES and expanded well beyond its delivery roots into POS, kitchen screens, webshop/app, and store management. In October 2026 it crossed into embedded finance by launching SIDES Pay (white-label Stripe) and immediately layered SIDES Capital (revenue-based financing via Stripe) on top — mirroring the Toast/Lightspeed playbook of monetizing payments and lending inside a vertical SaaS stack.
SIDES's lending and capital products are provided by Stripe Capital.
The Embedded Finance Index 2026 maps 3 layers in SIDES's stack: Payments / PSP (Stripe, Adyen and checkout); Lending (Stripe Capital and SIDES Capital); Accounting (DATEV and Twinfield).
SIDES is founded in 2014 and headquartered in Berlin, Germany.
