“Can a Nordic point-of-sale consumer-credit bank keep winning retailer checkouts as embedded BNPL players (Klarna, Trustly, Qliro) commoditise the checkout layer?”
Resurs began as a Swedish consumer electronics retailer in 1977, spun out a retail-financing arm (Resurs Finans) in 1983, then took on a full Swedish bank charter in 2001. Today it is a Nordic consumer-credit bank specialised in point-of-sale/retail financing (Resurs Checkout), unsecured consumer loans, savings accounts, credit cards and payment protection insurance across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. In 2024 the group was taken private by Ronneby UK Limited (holding ~90% of Resurs Holding).
