October

“Can a pan-European SME crowdlending platform survive the post-2022 rate environment, or does it need to hand its book to a larger consolidator?”

The story

October SA is a French SME crowdlending platform operating as October IFP (ECSP-licensed) with an in-house asset manager, October Factory (AMF-licensed). Originally positioned as a retail-plus-institutional marketplace for SME loans across France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, October pushed into embedded lending via October Connect for e-commerce platforms in 2023. By late 2025 the company announced it was no longer originating loans or opening new lender accounts and was migrating retail lender balances to EvenFi, a Spanish CNMV-regulated crowdlending platform passported across the EU — effectively an orderly wind-down of its own marketplace.
