Monta was founded in 2020 in Copenhagen as an operating platform for the EV charging ecosystem — serving CPOs, drivers, fleets, and the grid. Over three years it scaled to 600,000+ charge points and 1M+ monthly sessions, and layered increasingly rich embedded-finance functionality (VAT-compliant billing, wallets, multi-PSP settlement, revenue sharing, roaming payouts) on top of its CPMS. The 2024 Series B accelerated a push into the US via Monta Platform Inc. and doubled down on financial-operations as a core module — positioning Monta as an EMI-licensed, real-time settlement layer for EV businesses rather than merely a network monitoring tool.
