Founded in 2000 as a Brussels-based expense management vendor for European multinationals (early customers included UCB and Panalpina). Grew via European acquisitions (eBuilder Travel and Declaree in 2019, Expense.se in 2020), unifying three products — MXP (enterprise), Declaree (mid-market), Expense (Nordics SME) — under one brand in 2021. Added Mobilexpense business credit cards as an embedded finance layer via Pliant's Cards-as-a-Service. Acquired by Nordic software conglomerate Visma in 2024, positioning it as Visma's European spend-management arm.
