The story

LSE is a 130-year-old public-benefit higher education institution, not a commercial fintech. Its embedded finance footprint is purely operational — tuition fee collection, international student payment processing via Convera's GlobalPay for Students, payroll for ~5,000+ staff, and student accommodation insurance. The 2023 Payment Acceptance Strategy formalised its multi-provider payment framework, and the 2025 MyHR rollout modernised payroll self-service. There is no revenue-generating embedded finance product directed at external customers.
