The story

Founded 2020 as Keeper, a month-end close and practice management platform for bookkeeping firms working in QuickBooks Online and Xero. Went through YC S21 and expanded from a bookkeeping workflow tool into a broader accounting operating system with a tax suite, client portal, e-signatures, and AI-driven transaction categorization. Rebranded to Double in October 2025 after losing a trademark dispute; product and team unchanged. The company is a pure vertical SaaS play — Jensen Technology, Inc. dba Double — with no embedded financial products of its own; its 'financial' exposure is limited to reading ledger data via QuickBooks/Xero APIs and processing subscription payments via Stripe.
