The story

Founded in 2001 as a UK charity fundraising platform, JustGiving grew into the dominant peer-to-peer fundraising marketplace in the UK. Acquired by Blackbaud in 2017, it became part of a broader nonprofit software ecosystem. In recent years, JustGiving has been modernising its payment infrastructure—migrating to GoCardless for Open Banking-powered direct debit and instant bank payments, and adopting Gr4vy as a payment orchestration layer to enable global and cryptocurrency donations. The launch of Giving Checkout in 2024 marks a strategic move to offer 0% fee embedded checkout to charities, deepening its value proposition beyond the fundraising page model.
