The story

HCSS is a 40-year-old vertical SaaS company for heavy civil / infrastructure contractors, serving 4,000+ construction firms across North America with estimating (HeavyBid), field operations (HeavyJob), safety, fleet, and telematics products. Historically bootstrapped and privately owned, it was acquired by Thoma Bravo in 2021 and later became a subsidiary of Nemetschek Group. HCSS has no embedded financial products of its own — it integrates outward to 45+ construction accounting/payroll systems and processes its OWN accounts receivable through Versapay and AP through Bill.com. Its embedded-finance footprint is essentially zero; the AR/AP vendors on the sub-processor list are for HCSS's own back office, not resold to customers.
