The story

Gastrofix was founded in Berlin in 2011 as an iPad-native cloud POS for German-speaking hospitality (restaurants, bars, hotels), specializing in TSE/RKSV fiscal compliance for DE and AT. After raising a €15M Series B in 2017 to expand internationally, it was acquired by Canadian POS platform Lightspeed Commerce in January 2020 for ~$100.8M, and has since been rebranded as Lightspeed Restaurant G-Series. Post-acquisition, the product picked up Lightspeed's embedded finance stack — Lightspeed Payments (acquiring) and Lightspeed Capital (revenue-based lending) — making Gastrofix the DACH beachhead for Lightspeed's embedded finance strategy in hospitality.
