The story

Fieldwire began in 2013 as a mobile task and plan management tool for construction foremen and superintendents — a lighter, field-first alternative to PlanGrid. After raising ~$41M across seed/A/C rounds, Hilti acquired the company in 2021 for ~$300M to become the software layer of Hilti's construction ecosystem. Under Hilti, Fieldwire has expanded upmarket into RFIs, submittals, change orders, and budget modules — pushing into project financial workflows — but has not launched embedded payments, lending, or banking products.
