Expensya

Can a European expense-management SaaS own the entire corporate spend cycle — from card issuance to reimbursement — by embedding banking and payments directly into its workflow?

The story

Originally launched as a SaaS expense-report automation tool targeting European businesses, Expensya grew into a full spend-management platform. After acquisition by Medius, it was repositioned as the expense management layer within Medius's broader AP automation ecosystem. The key embedded-finance pivot was adding corporate payment cards via Swan's BaaS, enabling Expensya to own the full spend cycle — from card issuance to expense reporting — rather than requiring users to switch between banking apps and the expense platform. More recently, a partnership with Adyen signals a move toward monetising card spend through cashback programmes.
