The story

Founded in 2012 as a cloud-based property management system (PMS) for hotels and vacation rentals, Cloudbeds expanded its platform strategy around 2017 by recognizing payments as a core monetization layer. In 2019, the company migrated to Stripe Connect as the backbone of Cloudbeds Payments, its embedded payment product for hotel operators. Over time, Cloudbeds layered on additional financial products — most notably Cloudbeds Capital (merchant lending powered by Stripe Capital) — positioning itself as a full financial OS for the hospitality vertical rather than a pure SaaS PMS.
