Can Apex own the full B2B infrastructure stack for digital investing — clearing, custody, ledger, tax, and embedded tools — and become the default fintech-for-fintechs in wealth management?

The story

Apex began as ADP Clearing & Outsourcing Services (later Fleet Securities), a traditional self-clearing broker. After being rebranded as Apex Clearing around 2012 and then Apex Fintech Solutions, it pivoted from serving institutional broker-dealers to becoming the embedded investing infrastructure layer for the fintech era — powering neobrokerages, RIAs, and consumer apps via APIs. The launch of AscendOS™ formalized this shift: Apex now sells modular cloud-native clearing, custody, ledger, rebalancing, direct indexing, and tax infrastructure to any digital investing platform. Its strategic question is how much of the B2B wealth-tech stack it can own as a single infrastructure provider.
