The story

Amberlo is a cloud-based legal practice management SaaS founded in 2017 out of Lithuania and now headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. It serves 1,000+ law firms across 70+ countries with matter management, legal billing, time tracking, trust accounting and a client portal. In April 2025 the company was acquired by German legal-tech group stp.one, making it a subsidiary rather than a standalone startup. Embedded finance is minimal — the product exposes trust accounting features and takes subscription payments via Braintree but does not embed lending, cards, banking, or payouts.
